Enjoy a rare opportunity to hear two historical instruments performed by two master musicians playing repertoire written specifically for these instruments. This is a free concert for our patrons. Works include the Sonata in G Major by Christoph Schaffrath and J. S. Bach’s Sonata in D major. In addition, the duo will perform 19th century composer Franz Xaver Chwatal’s Variations on "Was soll ich in der Fremde thun" for gamba and piano. Two solo works will round out the program: a sonata for solo viola da gamba by Carl Friedrich Abel, and C. P. E. Bach’s virtuosic harpsichord variations, Les Folies d'Espagne.

The Bach Festival Society is honored to collaborate each year with the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art and the City of Winter Park for the first event of the holiday season. Just one evening each year, Central Park is illuminated with the Museum’s elegant Louis Comfort Tiffany windows for a concert presented by the Bach Festival Choir and Brass Ensemble. Celebrate the joy of the season at this free concert.

Trumpeter Chuck Seipp and organist Randall Sheets are two performers at the top of their craft. Dr. Sheets is Ceremonial Organist for Arlington National Cemetery (retired), and Dr. Seipp is Sergeant Major (retired) from The United States Army Band, “Pershing’s Own” in Washington, DC. For the past several seasons, the Seipp/Sheets Duo has performed as many as 25 programs yearly to enthusiastic audiences across America and were featured at the prestigious Piccolo Spoleto Organ Festival. The recital is free to the public and funded by Rollins College through the Faith Emeny Conger ’54 Visiting Organist Series in Honor of John Oliver Rich ’38.

PARKING
Rollins College has construction projects that are limiting parking on campus. For all performances, patrons are encouraged to park in the SunTrust Parking Garage located at 150 E. Lyman Ave.

A golf cart shuttle from SunTrust Parking Garage will be offered prior to the performance. Please look for the shuttle stop sign on the southeast entrance of the garage. Please be considerate of patrons with limited mobility when deciding where to park.

The Bach Festival Society of Winter Park and WUCF-TV are bringing A Classic Christmas to the park! On Saturday, December 5, enjoy this one-hour prerecorded performance by the 175-voice Bach Festival Choir, Youth Choir, and Orchestra, led by Dr. John V. Sinclair. On Friday, December 4, from 5 to 9 p.m., the festivities continue as the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce and the City of Winter Park host Winter on the Avenue, presented by Massey Services, Inc.®, and supported by Fannie Hillman + Associates. This holiday street party will feature a flurry of activities including the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony presenting the city’s holiday tree in Central Park, Santa Claus, Popcorn Flicks in the Park, live music, take-home crafts from the Parks & Recreation Family Fun Program, take-home s’mores from the Winter Park Fire-Rescue Department, and so much more.
