Bach Festival Society of Winter Park Presents the 14th Annual Young Artists Competition

WINTER PARK, FL — The Bach Festival Society of Winter Park and the Morse Museum of American Art are pleased to present the 14th Annual Young Artists Competition on April 14, 2007, at Rollins College.

The competition is open to students in grades 9 through 12 who are Florida residents. Students may compete in one of four categories: piano, strings, brass/woodwinds, or vocals. Prizes are awarded in both the preliminary and finalist rounds for a total of $5,000, one of the largest combined prize winnings in the state.

Preliminary rounds for all four categories will begin at 8:30 AM on Saturday, April 14, in Keene Hall, located on the campus of Rollins College. The finalist recital, which is free and open to the public, will be held at 3 PM the same day in the John M. Tiedtke Concert Hall, within Keene Hall.

This competition, which draws students from all across the state of Florida, has produced winners who have gone on to study at such prestigious schools as the Juilliard School and Northwestern University, and many have continued on to lead successful careers in the field of music.

To submit an application or for more information regarding the Young Artists Competition, please download the information and entry forms from our Web site, www.bachfestivalflorida.org, or call the Bach Festival Society at 407-646-2182.
